This specialty cake shop operates from a historic home in downtown Crete, Illinois. The house was built in 1877 by Daniel E. Hewes, originator of the Acme Potato Cake Co. In 1991, the building was purchased by Sharon Komes to fulfill her dream of opening a cake shop, which led to the opening of Sharon's Custom Designed Cakes shortly thereafter. In 1994, the house was awarded a "Beautification Award" by the Crete Area Historical Society.
